1. Weather Conditions During Setup
Hazard: High winds, rain, or extreme heat.
Risk: Inflatable structure may become unstable, posing a risk to staff, guests, or property.
Control Measures:
- Weather forecast checked a minimum of 24 hours prior to setup
- Inflatable must not be erected in winds exceeding manufacturer limits (typically 24mph / 38kph)
- Additional ground anchorage used during mild adverse weather where appropriate
- Event will be cancelled or rescheduled if conditions are deemed unsafe
2. Electrical Equipment
Hazard: Electrical shock, fire risk, or trip hazards from cables.
Risk: Injury to staff or guests; damage to equipment.
Control Measures:
- All electrical equipment is PAT tested regularly
- RCDs (Residual Current Devices) used on all mains power supplies
- Trailing cables secured and covered to prevent trips
- Power sources kept well away from water
- Hirer must ensure the blower is protected during rain using the black cover provided and demonstrated during setup
3. Flashing & Moving Lights
Hazard: Flashing or moving lights may trigger seizures in individuals with photosensitive epilepsy.
Risk: Medical incidents involving guests.
Control Measures:
- Use of flashing and moving lights may affect individuals with photosensitive epilepsy
- This risk assessment provides all relevant warnings regarding lighting effects
- Guests must be informed at the time of booking that flashing lights are in use
4. Smoke Machine Use
Hazard: Reduced visibility; possible respiratory irritation.
Risk: Trips, panic due to poor visibility, or discomfort for individuals with respiratory conditions.
Control Measures:
- Only water-based, non-toxic smoke fluid is used
- Smoke fluid is filled during setup — guests must not refill the machine
- Guests may operate the smoke machine only via the supplied remote control
- Smoke output controlled to maintain safe visibility levels
- Warning signage displayed for asthma sufferers or those with respiratory sensitivities
5. Ropes & Anchoring
Hazard: Tripping hazards or failure of anchoring.
Risk: Trips or falls; inflatable movement or instability in wind.
Control Measures:
- All anchoring ropes flagged or cordoned using high-visibility markers
- Anchors inspected before and periodically during the event
- Setup and takedown carried out by trained staff only
- Hirer responsible for monitoring anchors throughout the event
General Control Measures
- First aid kit available on-site during setup and takedown
- First aid provision during the event is the responsibility of the hirer
- Staff fully briefed on emergency procedures
- Regular inspections conducted throughout the event
- Valid Public Liability Insurance in place
Emergency Protocol – Deflation
If the inflatable nightclub begins to deflate due to power failure or damage:
- Evacuate the inflatable immediately in a calm and orderly manner
- Do not attempt to reinflate or inspect equipment
- Contact CrazyNightclubs immediately for assistance
Inflatable Nightclub Structure Guidelines
- The blower must remain switched on at all times
- No naked flames or smoking within 20 feet of the inflatable
- Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the inflatable
- If wind causes excessive movement, evacuate immediately and contact CrazyNightclubs for removal
Operational & Liability Terms
- Spillages must be cleaned immediately to prevent slips and falls
- No liquids or drinks are permitted near electrical equipment
- Sound system volume must be kept at a safe level to protect hearing
- Neighbours should be informed prior to the event
- Any noise complaints are not the responsibility of CrazyNightclubs
Liability Notice:
- Injuries resulting from failure to comply with this risk assessment are not the responsibility of CrazyNightclubs
- Any damages or losses are the responsibility of the hirer
- The £50 security deposit does not represent the full cost of potential damages
- Legal action may be taken to recover losses, with all associated costs charged to the hirer
- By hiring CrazyNightclubs, the hirer agrees to all terms outlined in this risk assessment
